Virtual Career Fair for Veterans and Military Spouses
It can be more than difficult to find a job in today’s economy – especially for military community members.
Once a military spouse has found a job listing that matches his or her skills, he or she has the added complexity of spotty employment history, certificates that won’t transfer to the next location, and the onus that many employers just don’t want to hire military spouses because they just might not be around next year.
And we all know that young military veterans have one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, “The youngest of veterans, aged 18 to 24, had a 30.4 percent jobless rate in October, way up from 18.4 percent a year earlier.”
Finding a job isn’t easy – but it can be made a little easier. The organization, Milicruit, is holding a virtual job fair this February 23 from 11 am to 4 pm EST. According to a DoD website, Milicruit is advertising access to about 27,000 jobs.
The kicker? You have to reserve your spot before hand. If you are a veteran or a military spouse looking for a job, or you know someone who is, please let them know about this job fair!
